  • Jemima Catherine crossed the plains with her father and siblings. According to the biographical life sketch of Samuel Newton Adair, the Adair family crossed the plains as part of the Benjamin Gardner company. In 1851, the Adair family was listed on the 1851 Iowa census. In 1860, several of the Adairs were located in Utah, as indicated by 1860 census records.
