Lorenzo Dow Rudd
In 1851, he and his wife, Julia, may have traveled in the John G. Smith Company, but further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with. They were rebaptized in the Salt Lake 19th Ward, on 1 February 1852. This usually occurred within the first several months after arriving in the Valley, so it suggests that they traveled with an 1851 company.
At the end of a mission, Lorenzo traveled with the Christian Christiansen Company in 1857 as the Assistant Captain of the company, as indicated in Johan F. F. Dorius’ journal.
In 1868, he again crossed the plains, this time traveling with the Chester Loveland Company in 1868, with his wife Charlotte, and her daughter, Charlotte, from a previous marriage. The Deseret News roster simply states that Lorenzo was traveling with a wife and child.
Birth date is confirmed by the missionary register.
