  • Daughter of James and Martha Ashworth Isherwood.  The same year her parents and siblings crossed the Atlantic on the ship Colorado, fifteen year old Martha Ann sailed on the 1868 ship John Bright with Henry, Sarah and Elizabeth Haslam.  She again appears with the Haslams in the Perpetual Emigrating Fund records indicating that she crossed the plains with them in the John Riggs Murdock Company.  Martha and her sister Elizabeth were both re-baptized on 30 September 1868 in Salt Lake City.  Martha married Alfred Yates in December 1869.
