  • John, his wife Mary and children Mary, Jane, Janet, Agnes and John sailed to America in 1863 on the ship Cynosure.

    Evidence from emigration and church (Perpetual Emigrating Fund) records proves the Brown family traveled to Utah in 1863, and his son's obituary states that the son John came to Utah in the 1863 Samuel White Company.  

    His birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone.
