  • The Wilhelmsen family arrived in New York on 18 July 1866 via the ship Humboldt. The overland company roster only lists Neils, as head of household, but it shows that he purchased 7 adult food rations, indicating that his family, who were with him on the sea voyage, were also with him during this portion of the journey. Some early records spell the surname as Wilhelmsen.
