  • The 1850 Utah census incorrectly shows the family's surname as "McEntyre."

His obituary, which appears in the Eastern Utah Advocate, confirms his arrival in Utah in 1849.  It also confirms his death as taking place "last Sunday morning," which would have been 1 May 1904.  His gravestone on the Find a Grave website shows his birth and death years as 1846-1906, however, it is relative new marker, and is incorrect.  FamilySearch also slows the wrong death date--28 August 1906.
