  • The Roberts family arrived in New York on 5 July 1866 via the ship American Congress. The overland company records only list heads of household, but the notation that Samuel, Sr. purchased 5 1/2 adult food rations indicates that the whole family was with him during this portion of the journey as well.

Her given name is "Catherine" on the 1866 American Congress manifest and her surname is "Castleton" on Find A Grave website.
