Hans A. Hansen
The name was listed as H. H. Hansen in the company records. There were several Hans Hansens in the Utah area around this time. It was determined that this particular Hans Hansen was the one that traveled in the Thompson Company for various reasons. First, his death certificate indicates he had been living in Logan, Utah for 41 years. If he settled in Logan immediately upon arriving, this would indicate he traveled to Utah in 1866, the same year the Thompson company arrived. Logan Ward financial records list a Hans Hansen, with a notation that he traveled in the 1866 Daniel Thompson Company. The PEF ledger records a Hans A. Hansen as having arrived in the Valley in 1866 with a balance sufficient to cover the cost of two adults, which supports the two adult food rations that were associated with "H. H. Hansen" in the Thompson Company records.
Thompson company records list another H. H. Hansen, in a different, no food rations were allocated, but but there does seem to be another PEF record so it is uncertain if this is the same person or someone different.
Further research is needed to determine if it was his wife, Anna T. Hansen, who traveled with him.
