  • Daughter of James Hardie Jenkins and Janet Laird Jenkins.  They crossed the Atlantic on the ship Cynosure in 1863.  The pioneer company with which they crossed the plains was noted in local church financial records.  Janet's birth date may be found in the records of the Crofthead, Scotland branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (see Early Church Information File at the Church History Library in Salt Lake City.)

Her given name is spelled "Jeanette" on her burial record and Find A Grave website.  Birth date is confirmed by the same sources.
