        Malakiah [or Melchi] Stewart

        • Census and genealogical records indicate that the Stewart family traveled to Utah in 1849.  Further research needs to be done to determine which company they traveled with.  The Stewart family included William Jackson Stewart, his wife Sarah Dickens Gentry, and their children Permelia Jane, Sarah Elizabeth, John, Uel, Esli, Malakiah, and William Jackson, Jr.  

          His legal given name was "Malakiah," but he also went by the name of "Melchi."
