  • William's rebaptism took place in Salt Lake City on 6 February 1851, as recorded in the Salt Lake Stake Record of Members.  His name is shown as "Wm. Guither," and his birth date is confirmed by this record.  This record also proves that he arrived in Utah by 1850.  Further research is needed to determine the year he arrived in Utah and the name of the pioneer company with which he traveled.

The 1850 Utah census shows his name as "William Guyther."  No other family members were shown with him in that census.

The Early Church Information File also confirms his birth date and shows his father's name as "Christian," and his mother as "Christiana," and he was born in Germany.  We have not been able to locate a record of his journey to America.
