  • Evidence from emigration and church ordinance records proves the Ostler family traveled to Utah in 1861.  They sailed to America in 1861 on the ship Manchester, arriving in New York  City 14 May 1861.  A church ordinance was performed for John and and his wife Sarah in Salt Lake City 29 November 1861.  Because their son John traveled with them we have distinguished them as John Sr. and John Jr.
