  • Daughter of John Ostler Sr. and Sarah Endacott Gollop.  Evidence from emigration and church ordinance records proves the Ostler family traveled to Utah in 1861.  They sailed to America in 1861 on the ship Manchester, arriving in New York  City 14 May 1861.  A church ordinance was performed for John and Sarah in Salt Lake City 29 November 1861.  At the time of Sarah's death her surname was Jenkins.  A secondary source states that Sarah came to Utah with the 1861 Claudius V. Spencer Company, but that company came to Utah in 1853.  Further research is needed to determine the name of the company she traveled with.
