  • Daughter of William and Mary Ann Mole Smith. The Smith family emigrated from England by way of the ship American Congress and arrived to New York on 5 July 1866. They continued their westward journey in 1868 as part of the William S. Seeley Company.

    Her married name was recorded as "Hoge" on her death certificate and in census records.
