Albert King Thurber
Thurber first came to Utah in 1849 as a non-member on his way to the California gold fields with a group of other 49'ers. He remained in Salt Lake City a short time where he was converted to Mormonism. Later that same year he continued on to California. In 1850, he returned to the Valley from California with the Amasa Lyman Company.
In 1866, he crossed the plains again as a returning missionary from Europe.
