  • Evidence from emigration, newspaper, and church (Perpetual Emigrating Fund) records proves that William and his mother Ann traveled to Utah in 1863. The ship manifest lists William as a Mumford, the 1870 Utah census has his surname as "Gunn" and the death certificate and Find A Grave website his surname is "Stubbs."
