  • Jane arrived in New York on 10 July 1863 via the ship Antarctic. She was traveling with her 15 year old son, John. Though John's name is not seen in any company or PEF records, it is assumed he continued on with her due to his age, as well as her PEF account balance. The amount is more than what would be needed for a person traveling across the plains alone. First actual documentation to place him in the Valley is a marriage in 1870. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company they traveled with.
