  • Mary Ann came to Utah between 1847 and 1852. The first documentation to place her in Utah is her marriage to Howard Coray in Salt Lake City on 13 January 1853, proving that she arrived in Utah by 1852.  Her name does not appear on the 1850 Utah census, which was taken in the Spring of 1851, so she likely arrived in 1851 or 1852.  Further research is needed to determine the year of her arrival and the name of the pioneer company with which she traveled to Utah.

Her birth and death dates are confirmed by her death certificate and the inscription on her gravestone.  They both show her name as "Mary Ann Angell."
