  • Ann and her family traveled overseas on the ship Zetland arriving in New Orleans on 26 December 1849.  

    According to the Frontier Guardian newspaper, she married James Maycock 16 January 1851 at Kanesville, Iowa. Her death date derived from the Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star 45 (19 March 1883), 192 and from her gravestone.  She came with her children Mary Ann, Helen, and Andrew Leslie.

    Her surname was "Leslie" on the ship, "Maycock" in the Howell company roster, "Leslie" on the 1850 and 1860 census.  She married Duncan McDonald on 21 July 1861.  Her surname is "McDonald on her burial record, and the inscription on her gravestone show her name as "Ann Thompson Leslie."
