  • Her obituary says she crossed the plains in the Orson Hyde Company of 1852. There was no such company.  She came with her mother Ann Thompson Leslie Maycock.  Her death date is confirmed by her death certificate.

    Her name is spelled "Ellen" on the 1850 Iowa census.  She married John Maycock on 26 July 1852 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
