  • William came to Utah in either 1863 or 1864. He likely came in 1863, the year he took a PEF loan for his emigration and sailed to America on the ship Cynosure. But the first documentation to place him in Utah are church ordinances performed in December 1864. Further research is needed to narrow the year of his travel and determine the name of the pioneer company he traveled with.

The Cynosure ship manifest shows William as being a sailor, and his wife, Sarah Tunbridge, born about 1839, age 24, traveling with him.   We have not been able to confirm that Sarah survived the journey and arrived in Utah.
