  • Her step-father, Elijah Cheney is documented in the 1849 George A. Smith/Dan Jones company. However, she, her mother, and brother don't appear on that roster with him. Her reminiscence indicates that they arrived in the Valley in 12 October 1848. If that is true, the company they traveled with would have been the 1848 Williard Richards Company. She married Levi Jackman soon after her arrival in Salt Lake so she appears in the 1850 Utah census in two households: with her step-father, Elijah Cheney, she is Sarah but with her husband she is Lucinda Jackman.
