David Harland Crosby
He was traveling with his mother and siblings. They are seen in Iowa at the time of the 1850 federal census and are first placed in the Valley by a listing of persons indebted to the Perpetual Emigrating fund. This document indicates that "Mrs. Mariah Crosby" traveled in 1851. In the 1852 "Registry of Names of Persons Residing in the Various Wards As To Bishop's Reports, Great Salt Lake City" she is listed as "widow" Crosby, living in the Salt Lake Second Ward.
