  • Evidence from emigration and genealogical sources proves that the Colebrook family came to Utah in 1851. They were on the ship in 1849 but were not on the 1850 Utah census. Parents had temple ordinances performed February 1852, so would have come in 1851.  This is confirmed by her mother's obituary. Surname on roster was spelled "Colbrook" and her given name was spelled "Hellen".

    She is documented in the Salt Lake Seventeenth Ward at the time of her baptism on 23 September 1855. At that time, her birth date was confirmed as 31 May.
