  • The Dalley family came to Utah in 1852. They are on the 1850 Iowa census and he had a sister born in Iowa April 1851. Then he had a brother born in Utah June 1853, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration.

    Moroni crossed the plains again several years later when he worked as an out-and-back teamster on the Daniel D. McArthur Company in 1868.
