  • Evidence from emigration and genealogical records proves that Samuel and Peter Barson traveled to Utah in 1854. They appear on the 1854 Windmere ship manifest, and are surrounded on the PEF ledger by other members who traveled in 1854. First documentation to place them in Utah is David's rebaptism in the Salt Lake Seventeenth Ward on 22 October 1854. Further research is needed to confirm the name of the company they traveled with.

His birth date is confirmed by Seventeenth Ward records at the time of his rebaptism.

Company Unknown (1854)
