  • Hans Carl is recorded as having been rebaptized in the Mt. Pleasant Ward on 2 November 1862, along with his wife, Marie Kirstine, and two children, Peter Jacob and Marie Kirstine. They likely traveled together. Other children who likely traveled with them are Hans Carl (Charles), Albertina Maria, Albert Sophus, and Albertina Jacobine.  They traveled on board the ship "Tuscarora" in 1857.  The ship manifest shows the family's surname as "Albrechtsen," and shows him being 35 years old.

Early Danish records list his surname as Albrechtsen or Albreitsen.
