Ludvig Ditlev Christensen
Evidence from emigration and census records proves that Ludvig traveled to Utah in 1857. His death certificate and the 1900 U.S. Census say that he came to America in 1857. His 1920 obituary states that he "came to Utah sixty years ago," making his arrival 1860, but this is incorrect. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company he traveled with.Apparently, his half-brother, James Petersen, also traveled with him in 1857.His death certificate, the Lundby Parish Register, and the inscription on his gravestone confirm his death date.Ludvig appears on the 1857 Westmoreland ship manifest with his mother, Karen Sorensen Christensen under the surname of "Jensen."
