  • Evidence from newspaper and tombstone inscriptions proves that the Carter family traveled to Utah in 1862. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.  Her given name is listed as "Lacy" on the 1854 ship Clara Wheeler manifest and "Louisa" on the 1870 Utah census.
