  • The death of her father near Winter Quarters, Nebraska, 14 June 1850 and the 1850 Utah Territorial census (taken in early 1851) prove that Sarah crossed the plains in 1850.  Sarah was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Salt Lake City on 22 June 1851.   The Salt Lake Stake Stake record shows her birth date as 13 August 1837.  Her birth year (probably a mistake) is recorded as 1834 in the Tenth Ward record of members.    Additional research is needed to determine the name of the company with which she traveled.
