  • John was born in Nova Scotia.  Evidence from church records proves that the Skerry family traveled to Utah by 1855. Further research is needed to determine the year they came to Utah and the name of the company they traveled with.

At the end of a mission to England, he traveled home with the Ira Eldredge Company in 1861 as indicated in F. W. Blake’s diary.
