- Death Date
Sarah Ann Clewley
Sarah's father William Clewley appeared in the 1852 Iowa census, living in Pottawattamie County. (The census was taken before 6 July.) William was the only male in his household but there were two females (almost certainly his wife Ann and their daughter Sarah Ann). William died (according to New Family Search), on 10 July 1852, but it is not clear where his death occurred. Additional research is needed to determine if he died on the trail and to identify the name of the pioneer company with which Ann and Sarah Ann crossed the plains. (Church ordinance records prove they were in Utah before 3 October 1852.) Sarah Ann's birth date is from the Early Church Information File.
Sarah Ann and her mother Ann sailed to America in 1849 on the ship Zetland, and the ship manifest lists their surname as "Clewley."
She was a member of the Salt Lake City 10th Ward when she was rebaptized 3 October 1852.
