  • Although she isn't listed on the roster, she married Henry Cumberland on 12 August while en route to Utah in 1852. Cumberland's wife had died earlier after reaching America. Elizabeth sailed on the ship Ellen Maria, the same ship as the Cumberland family. She was rebaptized  while living in the Seventh Ward on 3 October 1852.

    A copy of her obituary which appears on the "Memories"  page of her record on FamilySearch confirms her travel to Utah in 1852, but says that "she crossed the plains with Capt. Layton's company."  She was actually with the 1852 Abraham O. Smoot Company, and Christopher Layton was a Captain of Fifty in that company.
