James Mitchell Worthington
He initially came to the Valley in 1853. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company he traveled with.
Ten years later, he is seen crossing the plains again as a teamster for Rosel Hyde's out-and-back company. One document in the Hyde company records gives his name as "James Worthingham," but a second document lists the full name of James M. Worthington. Both "Worthingham" and James M. Worthington" are assigned to the freight wagon #230, so they are most likely the same individual.
