  • Charles borrowed money from the Perpetual Emigrating Fund on 1 January 1855.  He married Jane Miles on 29 April 1856 in Salt Lake City, Utah so he must have crossed the plains during the summer of 1855.  At the time of the 1856 Utah Territorial Census Charles and his wife were living in the Salt Lake City 18th Ward.  Charles P. Thomas donated $210.00 to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latte-day saints in 1858.  In 1866 his name first appears in the records of the Utah Territorial Militia at Moroni, Sanpete County.  He is buried at Moroni.
