  • Catherine crossed the Atlantic on Zetland in 1849 with Mrs. Ann Leslie and her three children.  James Crawford was  with them.  On the ship manifest Catherine's given name is spelled "Cabien."   She was re-baptized at Salt Lake City on 19 October 1851 and according to a biographical sketch written by her daughter, Elizabeth Crawford Munk, Catherine married James Crawford that same season.  She may have crossed the plains with James in the John G. Smith Company but this must be proven by a primary source.
