  • Frederick (age 5) crossed the Atlantic on the ship Forest Monarch in 1853 with his sister Ane Catherine (age 10) and their uncle, Gerhardt Jensen, aunt, Else Marie Jensen, and Mette Marie Holm. Frederick is the son of Hans Peter Jensen. They camped for a time at Keokuk, Iowa and presumably crossed the plains together but in the 1856 Utah census Frederick is not in the Salt Lake Second Ward with Ane and Uncle Gerhardt. There is a Frederick Jensen living in the Seventh ward. Two other Jensens were there as well: Caroline and Hannah. Were these relatives or is this a different Frederick Jensen?  It is possible that Frederick reunited with his father, Hans Peter Jensen, and was living in his household at that time.
