  • Jemima came with her parents James and Mary. James Hunter emigrated from Scotland with his wife and children by way of the ship American Congress. The ship arrived to New York on 5 July 1866. The Hunter family then continued their westward journey as part of the 1868 Seeley Company.

    Her married surname was "Barratt."
