  • Evidence from census and genealogical records proves that Mary Ann traveled to Utah sometime between 1851 and 1855. She appears on the 1850 Missouri census, but the first documentation to place her in Utah is her marriage in February 1866, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Her mother passed away in 1849 and her father in 1853 in Missouri. Her older sister, Betsy Prudence Howard Bullock came to Utah in the 1852 James McGaw company, and she may have traveled to Utah with her. Further research is needed to confirm the year she came to Utah and the name of the company she traveled with.
