Clara L. Smith

Facebook Twitter Print Mail
  • The Smith family arrived in New York on 6 July 1866 via the ship Arkwright. Overland company records only list Charles, as head of household. However, the notation showing he purchased 2 adult food rations indicates his wife was with him for that part of the journey as well and baby Clara is seen in Utah census records, so she was present for the overland trip as well.

Birth year extrapolated from age given on ship passenger list. It indicated she was 10 months old at the time of travel.
