  • William, his wife Emily, children Mary, William Jr., Emma, Henry and Harriet sailed to America in 1855 on the ship Siddons.

    The George family is documented in Philadelphia at the time of the 1860 federal census, which was enumerated on 27 July 1860. PEF records place them in the Valley by end of year 1861. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company they traveled with.
