  • Thomas appears on the 1865 Belle Wood ship manifest.  The first documentation to place him in Utah is the 1867 Salt Lake Directory.  However, Family Tree has his marriage as occurring about 1865 in Salt Lake City.  His first child was born in Salt Lake City in March 1867, so he would have arrived in 1865 or 1866.  The record of his Utah Naturalization and Citizenship is dated 23 December, 1870.  His death date is confirmed by the "Coroner's Inquest" and the inscription on his gravestone.  Further research is needed to confirm the year he arrive in Utah and the name of the pioneer company he traveled with.
