  • John's family is listed under his grandmothers' maiden name (Jeanes/Jeans) on both the PEF ledger and the 1868 Joseph S. Rawlins Company roster.  He was traveling with his wife, Nancy.  They dropped out of the Rawlins Company at Green River due to illness and joined up with the Gillespie Company shortly after to complete the journey.
