  • Evidence from census, genealogical, and Salt Lake City land records proves that the Maxfield family traveled to Utah in 1850.  A child was born about 1850 in Kentucky.  The first documentation to place them in Utah is the purchase of land in Salt Lake City by "Mrs. M. Maxfield" in October 1851.  Further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.
