  • Lehi Ward records confirm birth date. Arrived in New York on the ship Monarch of the Sea, arriving 19 June 1861. He was traveling with his widowed mother, Elizabeth, and nephew, Charles. First documentation to place William in Utah is a rebaptism in the Lehi Ward on 21 September 1862, so the family could have traveled to Utah in either 1861 or 1862. As of yet, there is no evidence to indicate that Elizabeth even began the overland portion of the journey. Further research is needed.
