  • The Trimmer family arrived in New Orleans in November 1844 on the ship Norfolk. They stayed in Iowa, then Missouri for a time. One daughter, Elizabeth, went ahead to the Valley in 1849. The rest of them followed her together in 1851. Edward Sr. served as Captain of the Herd.
