  • Rufus served as the pioneer company clerk and traveled to Utah with his wives, Laura Ann and her son Alfred, and his wife Harriet Cordelia. The 1850 Utah census, taken in the Spring of 1851, shows that he was living in a household with his wife Laura Ann, their two children, and Alfred.

The 1850 Utah census proves that Rufus died after 1850.
