  • The first documentation to place Alma in Utah is his marriage to Elizabeth Wray Walker in Salt Lake City on 15 December 1857.  His name does not appear on the 1850 or the 1856 Utah census, so he may have arrived in Utah in 1857.  However, further research is needed to determine the year of his arrival and the name of the pioneer company with which he traveled to Utah.  Alma and Elizabeth were divorced in Salt Lake City on 1 September 1860.  Elizabeth came to Utah at age 9 in 1850 with the William Snow/Joseph Young Company.

Alma's birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone in Idaho.
