Robert Winter Wolcott
Robert was a Methodist missionary on his way to California in 1852 when he stopped off in Salt Lake City. He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 15 August that year. In 1853 he purchased land in Salt Lake City but sold it within a year because at the April 1854 Conference of the Church he received a call to fulfill a mission in England. There he served in leadership positions but finally succumbed to smallpox in 1856.
