  • Mary and Samuel were the children of Richard Harrison Carter and Hannah Parker. Hannah died in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1852. Hannah and Elizabeth were sisters. These children crossed the plains with Elizabeth Ann and James Chauncey Snow, their aunt and uncle.

    Mary's obituary, which appears in the "Memories" section of her FamilySearch record confirms her travel to Utah in 1852.
